Get A New Car And Ignore The Past Recession

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

The recession that has just been has taken away a lot of confidence when it comes to buying major things like a brand new car. Getting a new car is certainly a big thing and a lot of thought process will have to go into this, at it stands at the moment prices are going up every single year despite the companies getting worse off, do they ever learn.

The governments rather brilliant car scrappage scheme is nearly over which means you are going to start getting ripped off for a brand new car again so watch out for all of this.

The recession has also put many people into serious debt meaning that the only way they are going to be able to get a hold of a new car is through things like bad credit car loans and bad credit car finance and this usually tends to be a lot more expensive than if for example you were not in debt which sometimes isn’t fair.

Of course car leasing could be the solution to all of your problems and with a little help from something like gap insurance you could really look to save a lot of money. Car showrooms are also going to be more taxed which means a lot more buyers are going to be looking to source their cars from the web rather than the usual very pompous salesmen you find.

Now that the recession has finally come to an end you really need to be looking up rather than down to keep this in mind. April is going to see some major price increases so make sure that you look into this and possibly take advantage of the last few weeks of the car scrappage scheme.

Not Buying A Vehicle Because Of The Price

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

The costs of new cars are rising very rapidly indeed and when a survey was conducted, half the people that were asked said the price would stop them from getting a new car. So what are the costs coming into play this year and is it really too much to stop someone from purchasing a car?

Emission Tax

Soon to come into play is the emission tax which actually adds up nearly £1,000 extra onto your car if you are after one of the models that guzzles up more fuel than a cross between a Jumbo Jet and a Mission to Mars. Safety should be in cars like the Audi Q5 and Audi TT Coupe. I personally do think that this tax is more than a fair one and that the government are doing a good hting by bringing it in, it does not change my opinion on the government being pants though.

Even within the bad recession that we have just come out of there were still companies putting the prices up. Renault, SEAT as well as Vauxhall are three of the bigger companies that put their prices up on more than one occassion last year, Ford on the other hand put their prices up a massive four times meaning their Fiesta went up by £2,500. Are companies really looking into why people are simply not interested in buying from them, how about the price?

On the plus side you can still get a cheap Audi for a reasonably good price so take into consideration that some manufacturers are a lot better than others. The fact is, showrooms rip people off, look around on the internet for the best deals, you are sure to find prices a lot cheaper.

What you need to do when it comes to get a new car is to simply look around the place!

Choosing The Best Tent

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Tents are quite up there in the list of must haves when you go on a camping trip. When people purchase tents, they usually look for something that is colorful and stylish. Sometimes they tend to disregard the quality and durability. Every time you buy a tent, you must look on how durable the tent is. Read on to get information on how to buy the best tent for you.

First you must do your research first. Browse the web since most manufacturers already have homepages. Online homepages of manufacturers usually have feedback sections that will give you an idea on the quality of the product. The internet is a great way to scout for best buys and not spend.

It is of utmost importance to check the materials that the tent is made from. Checking the materials will give you an idea of how durable the tent is. It is of course a fact that not all tents available in the market are durable. There are tents that only have a short life span while others can even outlive you. If you want your tent to last you a lifetime then it is imperative that you check the quality of materials used.

Next step is to check the tent if it is user friendly. Make sure that you know how big the tent is before you buy it. Know if the tent is easy to put up and the size is just right. You can decide whether to buy the tent after you have tested it.

Make sure that the tent has a warranty before buying it. It is not unlikely that the tent will get a few damages here and there after several uses. Your tent will inevitably need fixing and it is a logical step for you to make sure the tent has a warranty.

So there you are, now you know how to choose a tent wisely. If you consider these things you will surely have a great time camping using a durable, long-lasting tent.

Helpful Car Gadgets

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

There are many car gadgets out there that people take for granted that is a fact, but to be fair there are so many of them out there. Lets take a look at some of the best ones out there.

The iPod Charger/ Player

The first thing I do when I step into my Audi Q5 is to plug my pod into the speakers and select shuffle. This is one of the best ways to listen to really decent music without having to listen to the boring adverts that we face everyday when listening to the normal radio stations.

Electric Windows

Where would we be without the electronic windows? Can you imagine keep having to pull over on those hot summer days and having to get out of the car and wind down all of the windows manually! The worst thing about these windows is what happens when they break and they are halfway down, there are no manual controls.

Cup Holders

Without the cup holder I have to say there would be plenty of spillages in the car, however the cup holder has still been called a dangerous gadget. We would be spilling drinks left, right and centre if it wasn’t for these, especially the Americans and the people in those fancy Audi TT Roadster.

Parking Sensors

These things are always taken advantage of when you are reversing into a parking space. This is something that if you do have installed you are not likely to bother looking behind you when you are parking. Well if your cheap Audi parking sensors break and you smash up your car you cant blame anyone other than yourself.

These are not the only car gadgets that we actually take for granted but it is safe to say that these are the ones that are most used in the world. So there you have it, the next time you are operating a gadget in your car, do not take it for granted.

Why Won’t My Fuel Injector Function?

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

There are numerous factors that can affect the perfomance of your car’s engine. For example, the oxygen sensors, valves, head gasket, and myriad other components must be working properly if your engine is to perform efficiently. Having said that, many of the engine-related problems that plague drivers are due to their fuel injectors (FIs). They become dirty over time. When that happens, you might experience a decline in the performance and efficiency of your engine.

Below, we’ll take a closer look at the effects a dirty FI can have on your car. I’ll describe what happens when clogs develop and describe the factors that contribute to obstructions.

When Fuel Injectors Become Clogged

If you’ve ever examined a FI closely, you’re already aware that any obstruction can cause the air-fuel mixture to lean out. A lot of drivers mistakenly think a significant blockage is necessary in order to affect an injector’s operation. In reality, the blockage may represent no more than ten percent of the nozzle’s opening. Even that can potentially lead to misfiring. As a result, excess oxygen leaves the cylinder and flows into the exhaust system. The oxygen sensor takes note of the excess and reports the lean mix to the computer.

Within the closed feedback loop, the computer will adjust to the lean mixture by sending more fuel to the injectors. Unfortunately, this does not resolve the underlying problem. The issue is made worse by an altered spray pattern. If the spray pattern is interrupted by a clog, the fuel will burn less efficiently in the combustion chamber.

The Root Cause Of Clogging

Even though most modern FIs are designed to resist clogging, it happens frequently. This is because of the fuel that flows through tthe system. The gasoline you buy at the pump is filled with hydrocarbons. Within the hydrocarbons, there are olefins, a waxy substance that contributes to deposits that accumulate and clog the FIs.

When you turn your car off, the fuel injectors remain extremely hot. The heat casues any left over fuel within the nozzles to evaporate. Unfortunately, the olefins are left behind. They can harden into crusty deposits and over many traveled miles, can lead to the formation of an obstruction in the nozzles. This problem develops so slowly that drivers rarely realize it’s happening.

Gasoline contains special detergents and additives that are designed to keep the fuel injectors clean. However, low-cost suppliers often reduce the level of these materials in order to cut costs and maintain their margn of profit. The irony of the situation is that most people buy low-grade fuel to save money, without reallizing that in doing so, they are setting the stage for expensive repairs down the road.

Cleaning The Fuel Injectors

A lot of mechanics suggest cleaning your fuel injectors every 30,000 miles to ensure they remain unclogged and able to deliver an efficient spray pattern. If you have never taken the time to clean them, you will likely notice a marked improvement in your engine’s performance.

To start, if you lack experience working with cars, you should leave the cleaning to your mechanic. The job takes less than half an hour, but can seem complex, even when cleaning the FIs while they’re in place. You’ll need to use special equipment to feed the cleaning agent to the fuel rail (while your engine is running). You’ll also need to disengage your fuel pump and block the return line. As a side note, taking the fuel pump offline may cause a fault code; it will need to be cleared after you’ve finished cleaning the FIs.

Once the cleaning agent has gone through the engine and your fuel injectors, engage the fuel pump (clear the fault code, if necessary). You should be able to examine the injectors to determine whether all obstructions have been cleared. If a blockage persists, you may need remove the FIs in order to perform a more thorough cleaning.

Dirty fuel injectors are a common problem, especially in cases where drivers use low-priced gasoline. Plan to have the FIs cleaned every three or four years to ensure they remain free from clogs.

Your First car

Everything you want to know

It will cost you a lot of money to buy a car. Taking out a loan for a nice car is something a teenager does often. I can give tips to people who want to avoid this.

The first thing I suggest

Avoiding buying a new car is my first tip. Even the first few seconds of driving the car costs a couple thousand dollars. When you buy a car a couple years old, you will save a ton of money. If you buy an old car it will be cheap and practical.

The second thing to know

You need to make sure you buy an old car for your first car. It is likely that you will not have your fist car for very long. You might count on not keeping your car very long the first time around. Buying cars from the nineties for first cars instead of new will save you a lot of money. Cars prices go down a lot when there’s one or two thing wrong with it which is what you should look for. A few years of work or college should be about how long you’ll need the car to work.

Suggestion Number Three

Next, you need to pay for your car in cash. Just to avoid a hassle, they will give you a bargain if you show up with cash. Try doing this with everything since it works with more than just cars. You will always get things cheaper when you show that you have cash to pay. A receipt or contract is required when paying in cash. It will protect you by showing that you have paid for the car and made an agreement with the person who sold it to you.

The fourth thing I suggest

Make sure that instead of taking out a loan, you save up for the car. When you take out a loan for a car it needs to be as minimal as possible. Two things will happen; you will save a lot of money and appreciate your car more. Paying back a car loan will cost you so much interest that it isn’t worth it. Try to stay away from taking out too many loans for your first car.

Your fifth suggestion

The car you just spend a lot of money on needs you to take care of it. The way you treat your car will decide how long it runs. Changing the oil should be done often along with checking the engine. Avoid going on a bunch of long road trips. Make sure you keep it clean, inside and outside. Now you should be able to find a reliable >car that is cheap and nice.

Does The Sat Nav Actually Help?

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Everyone will know that here in the UK you are not able to do anything whilst driving your car from texting to tweeting and using facebook but if this is true why are we allowed to sit and stare at a Sat Nav when we are driving? Surely this is just as bad as doing the other things on the list?

The Dangers

The danger of course comes when people are not knowing where they are going and are just glued to the Sat Nav rather than the road. This puts you at some serious risk and it is not just you that you must think about, what about the other drivers and families around you. If you are lost then you really need to pull over and take a look at the Sat Nav rather than look at the thing when you are driving, better yet if you have a passenger get them to take a look!

Easier

Having a Sat Nav in the car is meant to be there to use but not to rely on by any means, this is the same for any other gadget in the car that is designed to make driving that little bit more easier for you. Your instincts will always be better than a gadget so make sure that you do not just rely on the gadgets in the car. If you do have a crash because you were not paying attention  you will be looking at your next car from the viewpoint of someone whtat has bad credit car finance and you will need bad credit car loans.

Gap insurance will help you out on something like this but the best advice that I can personally give you is never take your eyes off of the road under any circumstances.

How To Get A New Car For 70% Off

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Are you looking to upgrade to a new vehicle but perceive that your options are limited by your budget? Then, time to be practical about it. You can have a good quality of car for a lower price. Auto auctions can be found across the country and are a good place to find inexpensive cars.

These are usually announced in newspapers and other ads. public car auctions would be a good place where we can be sure that the car we will buy is still in good running condition. These auctions are open to the public and most of the cars sold here were taken from the owners for failure in paying parking tickets and towing fees. Government seized car auctions are also held wherein you can purchase various types of cars still in perfect condition. Most of these cars are confiscated because their owners either didnt pay their taxes or were involved in criminal activities. Not only do they sell cars but also other properties like real estate.

These items are less expensive because buyers fees and registration charges are not included in the price. Another type of auction is the one conducted by police departments. These usually are police impound cars. Used cars here, like any other auction house, should be carefully examined prior to purchase because prior owners and drivers have likely not provided optimal care to the vehicle. Another alternative is to participate in an auction that’s only open to authorized dealers, because those vehicles are in better shape and their prices are lower.

We shouldn’t just purchase something because it’s inexpensive, as the quality of the item still counts. Do your comparison with other auctions being held so you’re sure you’re choosing wisely. Most people would agree that owning a reliable automobile is a necessity, and you can’t afford to waste your hard-earned money on a cheap and poorly made car. You can buy an item for less, but it’s still important that it be worth what you’re paying.

An End To The Car As We Know It?

Friday, March 5th, 2010

So many people are going out and purchasing a bicycle over something like a car because many people are looking out for the environment nowadays, people are caring more about their bikes than getting a cheap Audi. Many people are really intersted in saving the world and all of that but I would say that most of this is coming from people not wanting to go out and buy a car because they are still suffering from the recession?

The fact is the motor industry has been on the decline for the last couple of years and although it looked like more people than ever were purchasing cars in February of this year it would seem that overall the figures are going to be down again. A lot of the figures I have come across are only really looking at the showroom sales and not on the net, these sales seem to be doing very well. Don’t think that that Audi TT Roadster has to be a dream as the net is great for cheap cars.

Many people are worried about buying a vehicle simply because of all of the costs involved, on top of this people are always being reminded on how bad driving a car is for the environment, on the other hand the truth behind it is even if we did stop driving our cars, China produces more than all of the cars in the UK. I really do think that it is very good that the five minute drive to work is only a 10 minute cycle in and a 15 minute walk in, perhaops people will get a bit of excercise.

If the truth was told, there are many people that should actually be walking or riding to their offices as it is anyways. So if you can why not ride or walk in, even if it is just a couple of times a week, that way you can still get your nice, new Audi R8.

Challenges In Locating The Perfect Classic Auto Replacement part

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

When you restore an antique auto, you have the option of doing the restoration work yourself or farming it out to someone else..

If you are planning on contracting the car restoration to a shop, price the labor costs. This may take some time, but when you’re done, enter all of your figures into a spreadsheet and compute the estimated total costs. Then, just to be conservative and account for unexpected repairs and cost overruns, increase the total amount by 50%. The final tally may shock you. But at the very least you won’t be surprised when money begins to drain from your checking account.

Here are a few of the complications you may encounter as you attempt to evaluate classic car and price parts:

It’s not unusual to be unable to locate all of the parts that you need. Car parts become available when they become available, and some antique car parts are extremely rare. It this is the case you will either have to settle for a substitute part or wait for an authentic part to hit the market.

Sometimes you’ll locate the exact automobile part that you’ve been looking for, but it will be in another city or state and needs to be shipped to you. Make sure you include shipping prices in your parts estimates. Some people and companies use transportation costs as profit centers and the resulting price may be more than you expected.

Everybody knows that, normally, that last thing that you want on your car is rust. However, body rust on the body of an antique car is not something to be too concerned about – you are doing an automobile  restoration after all. However, rust on structural parts can bust a hole in your budget big enough to sink the entire restoration project. So make a special note to look for evidence to look for rust in the wheel arches, roof pillars, floor, and so on.

For those enthusiasts among us who love the art of tinkering with automobiles, even though classic car pricing continues to go up, finding and restoring antique autos can be one of the most enjoyable hobbies around. Just be sure that you don’t go broke while enjoying it.
